Koosin: Citizen vigilance mobilized the population this Monday, February 2, 2026, for the clearing of the area around the National Road (R14).
According to Burkina Information Agency, armed with axes, machetes, and tricycles, the committed patriots of Bourasso and Lekuy took the initiative early Monday morning, February 2, 2026, to clear the area around National Route 14, the section between these two villages. The president of the community watch group, Theodore Kimu Kadewa, expressed his satisfaction with the youth mobilization, stating, "This is our way of contributing to our own security."
He added that this was not their first action, "but the incident that occurred on Friday, January 30, 2026, on the road-namely, the execution of a teacher and his child-shocked us so deeply that we, along with those from Lekuy, felt it necessary to clean up and create some space around the road."
The delegate of the Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland (VDP), Jean Paul Traore, congratulated the youth for the act of good citizenship which will not only allow users to move freely but also allow the FDS and VDP to have visual contact.
