Burkina Faso’s Dual Front War Effort: Weapons and Media Play Key Roles

Burkina faso: The war waged by Burkina Faso against terrorism is being conducted both on the military field and in the media, the Minister in charge of Communication, Pingdwende Gilbert Ouedraogo, declared on Tuesday in Ouagadougou.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Ouedraogo emphasized the dual nature of the country's strategy during the presentation of his department's performance contract for 2025, which has achieved a 98.41% completion rate. He highlighted the significance of media and information as integral components of war communication alongside traditional military efforts.

Ouedraogo noted that his department has been actively involved in creating programs and media content to inform the public with accurate and reliable information. "We have worked to produce programs and content that have helped inform our people and provide them with accurate information," he stated.

As part of the country's wartime communication strategy, several field visits were organized for both public and private media outlets in the recaptured areas. Ouedraogo pointed out that three such visits were conducted to allow journalists to witness the daily lives of the people and observe the realities on the ground firsthand.

"These visits helped convince those who were still skeptical of the progress made in the fight against terrorism and the satisfactory results achieved on the ground," Ouedraogo explained.
