Tita FM Launches as a New Community Radio Station in Pouni

Pouni: The media landscape of Sangui© province has been enriched with the official launch of Tita FM, broadcasting on frequency 106.1, marking a significant development for the town of Pouni. The community radio station was inaugurated during a ceremony that promised advancements in local development.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Tita FM operates within an 80 km radius and reaches over 40 villages, establishing itself as a key tool for raising awareness. With a 12-hour daily program schedule, the station is managed by a team of six professionals. The programming focuses on critical health and environmental issues, local development in terms of economic and social initiatives, and gender and inclusion, particularly promoting women's rights and equality.

The ceremony featured Ms. Nadine Tiemounou/Badiel, president of the special delegation of Pouni. She highlighted that the radio station addresses a major "communication gap," offering citizens a direct channel for expression. The event's patron, Kamsaonghin Malgre Naaba, emphasized the radio's role in promoting peace, stating that "Tita FM will enlighten consciences and strengthen social cohesion and living together."

The High Council for Communication, the media regulatory body, expects the station to operate professionally while adhering to existing regulations. The event also had the honorary patronage of Boubacar Zida dit Sidnaba, CEO of Savane M©dias, a prominent figure in the Burkinabe audiovisual sector.

Equipped with modern studios and a state-of-the-art broadcasting system, Tita FM aims to engage in dialogue rather than just broadcasting. The management has announced plans for interactive programs and a community day to build a strong connection with listeners. Station director Karim Derra invited the public to embrace this new platform, stating, "We are here to inform, educate and entertain you."

The celebrations continued into the evening with a concert to commemorate the launch of this new voice in the community.
