Loroum: A project in Loroum Province has distributed livestock kits to 145 households, as part of efforts to aid communities affected by security and humanitarian issues. This initiative was led by the Livestock Resilience and Competitiveness Project (PRECEL), with David Ayoro, the Secretary General of Loroum Province, presiding over the event.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the distribution took place on Monday, February 9, 2026, and aimed to facilitate economic recovery for the impacted communities. Each of the beneficiary households received either a sheep, goat, or pig kit, consisting of one male and three female animals, or a poultry kit that included one rooster and ten hens.
The ceremony was attended by Bernard Sawadogo, the regional director in charge of Animal Resources for Yaadga, along with administrative authorities and community representatives. In total, 604 animals were distributed among the vulnerable populations in Loroum Province, comprising 544 small ruminants, 24 pigs, and 36 poultry.
PRECEL, a project under the Ministry of Agriculture, Water, and Animal and Fisheries Resources of Burkina Faso, is focused on enhancing the livestock sector within the country.
