Burkina faso: The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) has officially installed 30 experts from the Global Economic Project (GOEP) to map the economic landscape of Burkina Faso by 2060.According to Burkina Information Agency, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Aboubakar Nacanabo, inaugurated the Operational Group of Experts in Foresight (GOEP) on February 11, 2026. The initiative aims to outline Burkina Faso's economic trajectory through credible scenarios, quantified projections, and strategic decisions.The minister emphasized the importance of foresight, stating that nations should not be passive but proactive in shaping their future. He highlighted the necessity for Burkina Faso to pursue economic sovereignty and encouraged GOEP experts to exhibit intellectual audacity, scientific rigor, and strategic patriotism.Nacanabo urged the experts to focus on key areas such as significantly increasing the country's GDP, achieving industrialization, ensuring energy and food self-sufficiency, developing hum an capital, and building a modern, digitalized state.François Xavier Bambara, president of GOEP, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in the group and noted the transition from the Burkina 2025 study to the Burkina 2060 Vision as a commitment to structured planning. He stressed the responsibility and dedication required for the task ahead.The GOEP members have vowed to diligently fulfill their roles to guide Burkina Faso toward a future of peace and prosperity.
