Zoundweogo: Despite challenging terrain, the Combat Forces maintained pressure on terrorists throughout February in various theaters of operation, notably in Titao, then along the Ivorian border, in Tongomayel, B©l©h©d©, Filio, Djibo, and the eastern sector. The results include hundreds of criminals killed, dozens of bases destroyed, and a significant arsenal of weapons recovered, while operations continue to protect the population and eliminate the forces of evil.
According to Burkina Information Agency, on February 14, 2026, the Combat Forces clashed with the enemy in the areas of Tongomayel, B©l©h©d©, and Filio. Panicked, the attackers fled before regrouping in the western sector to attack civilians. They organized themselves into three groups totaling over a thousand people. Two groups aimed to spread propaganda and loot health centers, while the third intended to attack the base of the 21st BIR (Rapid Intervention Battalion).
Thanks to the swift and coordinated action of the 21st BIR and the VDP of Titao, the attackers received a significant response. After a fierce battle, they were forced to flee north. Several terrorists were neutralized and a large quantity of equipment was recovered. Air support was deployed to complete the operation and eliminate the remaining threat.
Two days earlier, on February 12, air assets received intelligence about a group of criminals transporting a large cache of equipment in the forest of W Park. Air units moved quickly to the area and struck the assailants. The destruction was complete, and no survivors were able to escape, thus securing the area and the equipment.
On February 10th, a reconnaissance unit composed of soldiers from the 10th and 23rd BIR (Rapid Intervention Battalions), departing from Toeni, was patrolling the village of Kan©ga, on the border. Suddenly, several hundred criminals appeared and charged the small unit. The soldiers did not retreat. They bravely confronted the horde of attackers.
Friendly observers positioned on high ground followed the battle and helped coordinate the fire. After about thirty minutes of intense fighting, the criminals realized they were facing determined soldiers and began to flee, abandoning corpses and equipment.
Between February 7 and 9, units of the Special Action and Combat Force (FORSATEC) conducted offensive operations on the Ivorian border to prevent criminals from establishing themselves in the country. On February 9, on the banks of a river, the troops detected armed assailants. The assailants quickly fled and attempted to cross the river into C´te d'Ivoire.
The combat forces closely monitored the movements to avoid any incident with the Ivorian forces. The images show the terrorists walking and talking under surveillance, unaware of the soldiers' presence, before dispersing to the opposite bank.
On February 8, forces based in Djibo launched an offensive towards the terrorist bases of Tongomayel and B©l©h©d© at 7:00 a.m. Upon attacking the Tongomayel base, they encountered assailants who were quickly overwhelmed.
Enemy reinforcements preparing in the nearby forests were spotted, cornered, and neutralized by ground forces and air support. During the night, the criminals attempted to salvage equipment using a pickup truck, but the vehicle was intercepted and destroyed.
On February 6, a group of criminals gradually arrived at an orchard in Baraboul©. These assailants were preparing for a large meeting. Air support quickly intervened and dropped a missile into the heart of the gathering. All the assailants present were destroyed along with their weapons.
On February 5, in the area controlled by the Eastern Sector Forces Group (GFSE), a team of terrorists operating with mini-drones in Namoungou was located and effectively neutralized. The explosives they were carrying but had been unable to release were destroyed.
On February 3, in the Namissiguima area, surveillance located terrorists using a mini-drone to observe the movements of friendly forces. Another team sent to confirm the situation was also neutralized. All the attackers and their equipment were destroyed.
From February 1st to 4th, the 18th BIR conducted offensive reconnaissance operations within its area of responsibility. The units neutralized a few remaining criminals and secured several strategic routes.
Despite these great victories, the Fighting Forces have not rested on their laurels and continue to pursue the terrorists to their last strongholds.
