The Wourbeeni Family Celebrates Papa Djabiiga Haro’s 148th Birthday

Bogande: The Wourbeeni family celebrated the 148th birthday of their patriarch, Papa Djabiiga Haro, on Saturday in Bogande, during a ceremony marked by testimonies, blessings, and cultural events.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Papa Djabiiga Haro is presented as a living memory of the Sirba region and is recognized for his knowledge of traditions and his commitment to social cohesion. Those close to him attribute his exceptional longevity to a healthy lifestyle characterized by sobriety, natural food, and a deep attachment to spiritual values.

Despite his advanced age, Papa Djabiiga Haro remains visibly alert and continues to move back and forth within his concession. On this occasion, he offered blessings and prayers for the return of peace to Burkina Faso.

In a gesture of solidarity, the Haro family offered one and a half tons of rice to the fighting forces based in Bogande, as a sign of recognition for their efforts in support of security. The organizers have indicated their ambition to make this commemoration an annual event bringing together all the Haro families of Diepergou.
