Dankolon: The flag-raising ceremony was held this Thursday, February 12, 2026, at the Dankolon school in the Dokuy Basic Education District (CEB), under the banner of unity and social cohesion. It brought together members of the school council, parents, and the village community.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the flag was raised by a student, and all the participants sang the national anthem in Dioula to accompany the flag, a symbol of national pride. The students were invited to dress in traditional kokodondan attire for the occasion. Faso danfini, where kokodonda represents cultural identity.
This initiative is in line with the implementation of educational reforms, according to director Karim Barro. The raising of the colours, a first for the village, was well appreciated by the school council and the parents of students who came in large numbers to attend the event.
The ceremony ended in a convivial atmosphere centered around cultural values, songs and dances of the region, accompanied by a symphony of local music. The headmaster of the Dankolon school praised the village's mobilization to support the initiative. The school council stressed that it will play its part in providing quality education, as desired by the highest authorities in Burkina Faso.
