A mission led by the High Commissioner of the Tuy province, Issiaka Segda, carried out a field visit on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, to verify the effectiveness of the closure of illegally established private healthcare facilities in Hounde.
According to Burkina Information Agency, these health facilities were closed by a decree of the governor dated February 4, 2026, following a report from the control and inspection visits of private health care establishments in the Guiriko region.
In the Hounde health district, six private healthcare facilities were not complying with the regulations concerning the authorizations for the creation and opening of private healthcare facilities. Four of these facilities, located in the city of Hounde, were inspected during the mission. Following the visits, it was found that two establishments had complied with administrative requirements by updating their documents. These were the health facilities "La GrSce" and "LaFiasso".
The other two structures, for their part, proceeded with the effective closure of their premises, in accordance with the provisions of the decree. According to the High Commissioner, this operation aims to clean up the private healthcare sector and guarantee that the population receives services that meet current standards. He indicated that it is part of the government's policy, which is working for the well-being of the population. He also took the opportunity to urge the owners of the healthcare facilities concerned to comply with the regulations regarding the authorizations for the creation and opening of private healthcare facilities.
