Bilanga: The Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary, and Non-Formal Education for Gnagna, Sylvain Thiombiano, held an important meeting on February 17 in Bilanga. This initiative aims to assist and encourage education stakeholders in a challenging security and humanitarian context.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting brought together various educational stakeholders in the area, including the Heads of Basic Education Districts (CCEBs), pedagogical supervisors, office managers, school principals, members of the Municipal School Council, and the mayor's education officer. Together, they discussed the daily challenges they face and expressed their concerns about the persistent insecurity.

During his address, Mr. Thiombiano encouraged and congratulated those involved for their resilience. He emphasized the importance of staying the course despite the challenges and reviewed the eleven major reforms of the education system, their implementation, and the means of adapting in this crisis context. "We must all mobilize to ensure that education is not neglected, even in the most difficult situations," he insisted.

The meeting provided an opportunity to assess the concerns of stakeholders, particularly the need for better protection of schools and staff, as well as ensuring educational continuity despite the precarious security situation. Participants expressed their gratitude for this solidarity initiative, stating that it fully met their expectations. "This meeting is a real breath of fresh air and a source of support for all of us on the ground. We thank the director for his presence and attentive listening," remarked a CCEB representative.

Following the discussions, guidelines were provided to strengthen the resilience of the education system in this area facing significant security and humanitarian challenges. This solidarity is essential for education to continue playing its fundamental role, even in times of crisis.
