Zondoma: The municipality of L¨ba has officially embarked on the development of its Municipal Development Plan (MDP) for the period 2026-2030. The launch event, held at the L¨ba town hall, was led by Aboubacar Sidiki Nab©, the High Commissioner of Zondoma province.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the leaders of L¨ba are committed to adopting a framework that will guide local governance over the next five years, emphasizing the importance of planning and stakeholder involvement. The strategic planning tool, known as the Municipal Development Plan (MDP), was introduced in the presence of key local stakeholders.
Koanfanou D©bora Koadiari, the president of the special delegation of the commune, highlighted the role of the Csam Light design office, tasked with creating a PCD that is realistic, ambitious, and inclusive, addressing the needs of all community members.
The municipality is supported financially by Swiss Cooperation through the Citizenship Laboratory, participating in the third phase of the decentralization and citizen participation program (DEPAC3). Yvette Badini, representing the financial partners, emphasized the PCD's importance as a strategic instrument to define a shared vision of development, encouraging the involvement of all decentralization stakeholders.
Toussain Som©, from the Regional Directorate of Studies and Planning (DREP) of the Yaadga Region, outlined the stages and roles of participants in the PCD development. High Commissioner Nab© urged full engagement from stakeholders, emphasizing that the plan's effectiveness relies on collective contributions.
Boureima Ou©draogo, from the Village Development Committee of Gu©ss©r©, expressed readiness to collaborate on drafting a plan that benefits the local population. The final document is expected in three months and will require approval by the provincial governor before implementation.
