Gay©ri: The patriotic immersion of students from the intermediate classes of the high schools and colleges of Gay©ri concluded on Saturday, February 14, 2026, under the strong encouragement of the commander of the BIR 20 and the Secretary General of the province of Komondjari.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative was launched as part of efforts to strengthen civic responsibility and patriotism in schools, mobilizing students from post-primary and secondary schools in the Gay©ri district for several weeks. The closing ceremony was presided over by Captain Ou©draogo, known as "Percuteur," the commander of the 20th Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR) in Gay©ri, alongside Mr. Drissa Ou©draogo, the Secretary General of the Komondjari province.
During the event, Captain Ou©draogo commended the students for their discipline and commitment throughout the training. He emphasized that the immersion program was designed to "forge a generation aware of its responsibilities, respectful of the nation's symbols, and ready to defend the values of the homeland." He highlighted the need for responsible, united, and determined citizens in the current national context, urging students to embody civic duty, love of the flag, and respect for authority in their daily actions. He encouraged them to be ambassadors of good practices both in their schools and within their families.
Meanwhile, Mr. Drissa Ou©draogo, the Secretary General of the province, praised the organizers and supervisors for their dedication. He stressed that education should not be limited to academic knowledge but also focus on nurturing engaged and patriotic citizens. He stated, "The nation is built with upright women and men. This immersion helps to instill in young people the values of discipline, respect, solidarity, and work," urging students to apply the lessons learned.
The student representative, Mr. Lompo Dieudonn©, expressed satisfaction with the training and extended gratitude to the trainers for their guidance and dedication. He stated, "We have learned the meaning of civic duty, respect for institutions, and love of country. This training will help us become responsible sons and daughters and productive members of Burkina Faso."
As the patriotic immersion concluded, the students reaffirmed their commitment to adopting exemplary behaviors, contributing to building a more responsible and united society in the province of Komondjari.
