Ouagadougou: The African 7-a-side Football Confederation (AFC7) will hold a press conference next Friday to present the umbrella organization's missions on the continent, according to a note inviting AIB.According to Burkina Information Agency, the press conference aims to "present the missions of AFC 7 which aim to develop and structure 7-a-side football on the African continent, while promoting sport as a vector of unity, education and positive social impact". The supreme body of African 7-a-side football has initiated a continental tour in 20 countries including Burkina Faso, which will take place from March 28 to June 20.Already in the Burkinabe capital, the organizing committee for this continental tour met yesterday, Tuesday, with the president of the Burkinabe Football Federation, Oumarou Sawadogo, and his staff. During this meeting, the two parties discussed "the importance of developing 7-a-side football in Africa and reaffirmed their commitment to working together to promote this sport on the co ntinent."The AFC7 delegation also stressed the importance of cooperation between the National Federations and the Confederation to achieve its objectives. 7-a-side football, also called 7-a-side football or 7 against 7, is a variant of classic football where each team consists of 7 players (6 outfield players + 1 goalkeeper). It is recognised and organised in several countries under the aegis of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), especially for youth categories.
