Bittou: The General Education College (CEG) of Bittou hosted the traditional ceremony of raising the national colors on the first Monday of the month. The event took place in the presence of administrative authorities, constituted bodies, defense and security forces, educational staff, students, and representatives of civil society.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was presided over by the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the municipality of Bittou, Mohamed Lamine Diabate. In his address, he emphasized the significance of the strong turnout around the national flag, citing it as a symbol of unity and social cohesion. Mr. Diabate highlighted the initiative of the highest authorities to conduct this ceremony every first Monday, which embodies essential values such as national unity, patriotism, and solidarity.
The PDS urged students to uphold traditional values, discipline, and love for their country. He stressed the importance of young people cultivating a sense of responsibility and civic engagement, which are crucial for a strong and prosperous Burkina Faso. Mr. Diabate also commended the participation of the various constituted bodies and students, expressing satisfaction with the commitment shown by the CEG director, teaching staff, and defense and security forces in promoting republican values.
The police commissioner of Bittou, Assami Sawadogo, also addressed the gathering, expressing gratitude to the authorities and organizers of the ceremony. He praised the discipline exhibited by the students and their adherence to order, encouraging them to maintain punctuality and consistency in their efforts.
Arouna Noba, the director of the Bittou CEG, expressed appreciation to the administrative authorities, defense and security forces, and all participants for their attendance. He encouraged the students to continue respecting the values of discipline, solidarity, and consideration for their elders.
