Tansila: The official start of sports, cultural and leisure activities in the CEB began with a ceremony led by Jean Baptiste de la Salle Dakuyo, the Head of the Basic Education District (CCEB) of Tansila. The event marked the commencement of the Organization of Sport, Culture and Leisure in Primary School (OSCLEP) session for 2025-2026, held on March 4, 2026, at the Tansila "B" school. The theme for the event, "Sport, culture and leisure as a factor of social cohesion and resilience in Tansila," set the tone for the activities ahead.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the launch saw significant participation from students, parents, education professionals, and several departmental heads. A solemn minute of silence was observed to honor fallen soldiers and volunteers. Football was chosen as the sole activity for this session, with the opening match featuring a victory for the Tansila A team against Tansila "C" team, ending with a score of 2-0. The final match is scheduled for May 9, 2026.
The secretary general of the organizing committee, Arouna Ouattara, emphasized to the students the importance of fair play, respect for opponents, and passion for the sport, beyond merely scoring goals. The theme for the event was described by the CCEB as a commitment to nurturing education in Tansila. Appreciation was extended to the teachers for their dedication to the students' education, and to the administrative authorities, security forces, and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) for their continuous efforts in ensuring the community's safety.
