Women in Midebdo Commune Champion Peace and Empowerment on International Women’s Day

Noumbiel: As part of the celebration of International Women's Day, the women of the commune of Midebdo, through the communal coordination of women, celebrated the event on Sunday, March 8, calling for peace, children's education, empowerment and above all, living together.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was held under the theme "Building a lasting peace in Burkina Faso: what contribution of women and girls to the promotion of living together?" This municipal edition mobilized hundreds of women and several personalities, emphasizing the importance of unity and economic empowerment for women.

Several initiatives led by the local women's coordination committee impressed the participants. These included the implementation of economic empowerment projects through soap-making training for over 18 women, including 10 internally displaced persons. The women also distinguished themselves through community clean-up days, spending three days cleaning all public facilities and the local market.

The chairman of the ceremony, Mr. Palm, the 2nd vice-chairman of the special delegation of the commune, praised the initiative and invited women to be at the forefront of children's education and the promotion of living together. For the municipal coordinator, Ms. Dah Yeri Nad¨ge, the role of women was clear. "We will place more emphasis on the education of our children, social cohesion and living together at the heart of our actions for the happiness of all," she stated.
