Tenkodogo: The Association for Religious Tolerance and Interreligious Dialogue (ATR/DI), Tenkodogo branch, organized a joint breaking of the fast on Wednesday, bringing together Muslims, Christians, and traditional authorities in front of the Boulgou provincial high commission. This initiative aims to promote religious tolerance, interfaith dialogue, and social cohesion in the Nakambe region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the activity was placed under the banner of living together and sharing, mobilizing several religious leaders, administrative and customary authorities, as well as representatives of civil society who came together to share in the values of peace, solidarity, and fraternity.

The cell's secretary general, Armand Segueda, explained the significance of the initiative, noting the coincidence of fasting periods among Muslims and Christians. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to experience Ramadan and Lent simultaneously, emphasizing the importance of sharing a moment of brotherhood and strengthening ties between different communities.

For the association's leaders, this gathering provides a framework for interreligious dialogue, reminding everyone that peace and social cohesion are built on mutual acceptance, tolerance, and respect for differences. ATR/DI is committed to promoting harmonious coexistence, focusing on preventing community conflicts and consolidating peace through awareness-raising and dialogue actions.

Representing His Majesty Naaba Guiguempole, the Zong-Naaba praised the initiative for strengthening links between religious denominations and customary authorities. The event brought together Muslims, Catholics, Protestants, and followers of traditional religion for a collective breaking of the fast and prayers for peace in Burkina Faso.

The ceremony featured joint prayers and blessings for peace, stability, and social cohesion in Burkina Faso, followed by a fraternal sharing of the breaking of the fast meal among participants. Through this initiative, the Association for Religious Tolerance and Interreligious Dialogue aims to enhance dialogue between religious communities and strengthen the foundations of living together in the Nakambe region.
