Citizen Vigilance in Zondoma Showcases Solidarity Through Collective Fast-Breaking

Zondoma/ramadan: The provincial coordination of citizen watchdog associations in Zondoma organized a collective breaking of the fast this Monday, March 16, 2026, in Gourcy. The event mobilized the province's active members in a spirit of sharing and spiritual elevation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, after a successful first edition in 2025, the provincial coordination of citizen watch associations of Zondoma once again organized a collective breaking of the fast on Monday, March 16, 2026, at the twinning place of Gourcy.

This edition, which focused on strengthening social cohesion, was chaired by the High Commissioner of the Zondoma province, Aboubacar Sidiki Nab©. The initiative was well received by the province's top official, who congratulated the organizers and urged them to continue their efforts to mobilize communities. "I am very pleased this evening because citizen vigilance, in addition to its regular monitoring activities, is positioning itself in our province as a driver of social cohesion and community spirit," he stated.

On behalf of the Federation of Islamic Associations of Burkina Faso (FAIB), Imam Daouda Zorom© praised the organization of this event, which he described as embodying the spirit of sharing, strongly encouraged during this period of fasting. Oumarou Ou©draogo, president of the coordinating committee, expressed his satisfaction with the turnout and his gratitude to all those who contributed to the event's success.

Alongside the collective breaking of the fast, marked by a prayer and a shared meal, the community watch group officially presented 124,285 FCFA to the VDP (Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland). This sum reportedly resulted from a spontaneous collection organized during the inauguration of the Ibrahim Traor© roundabout in Gourcy on January 31st.
