Gay©ri: The Sons and Daughters of Komondjari Provide Food to Vulnerable Households and a Financial Contribution to Deme Sira

Burkina faso: The sons and daughters of the Komondjari province officially handed over food and a financial package to 91 vulnerable households and DEME SIRA on Tuesday in Gay©ri, in a show of solidarity in the face of the security crisis.

According to Burkina Information Agency, in total, 22 bags of 100 kg of sorghum and 4 bags of 25 kg of salt, worth 807,243 F, were distributed to the beneficiaries, as well as financial support of 253,510 CFA francs given to the DEME SIRA structure.

The representative of the collection committee, Mr. Babongou Pascal, stated that this initiative is the result of a mobilization of the province's residents, keen to contribute to the efforts of the authorities and humanitarian partners in favor of the affected populations. "This action was born from the desire of the sons and daughters of Komondjari to support the efforts already made to support households in difficulty," he indicated, specifying that a collection launched on February 2, 2026, made it possible to mobilize the sum of 1,060,743 CFA francs.

Part of this amount was allocated to DEME SIRA, while the rest was used to purchase the food distributed, he added, while thanking the donors and partners for their support.

Presiding over the ceremony, the province's secretary general, Mr. Drissa Ou©draogo, praised this solidarity initiative and urged donors to make their actions sustainable, particularly through development projects that promote the empowerment of beneficiaries. He also urged the beneficiary households to make wise use of the food received for the benefit of their families.

Mr. George Pal©, the representative for humanitarian action at the provincial directorate in charge of solidarity, congratulated the initiators and encouraged them to direct their efforts towards income-generating activities in the future.

Among the beneficiaries, satisfaction was palpable. Mr. Diallo Sidiki expressed his gratitude to the donors, emphasizing that this aid will help meet the needs of his family, who face difficulties accessing arable land. The same sentiment was echoed by Mrs. Lompo Dj©naba, who came to accompany her husband, who welcomed a beneficial gesture for their home, while offering prayers for the benefactors.

This initiative thus strengthens the chain of solidarity within the province of Komondjari, in a context marked by persistent humanitarian challenges.
