FC Fiimba Triumphs in Inaugural Maracana Tournament “The Resilience of Bogand©”

Bogand©: FC Fiimba clinched victory in the first edition of the maracana tournament "The Resilience of Bogand©" by defeating Jeunes Talents Junior after a penalty shootout (1-0) at the communal field of Bogand© on Saturday, February 14, 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the tournament was organized under the theme "Sport, a factor of peace, social cohesion and resilience". The event, initiated by Dieudonn© Bourgou and sponsored by MP Arnaud Yentema Tindano, featured 13 teams over more than a month. These teams included members from the defence and security forces, Volunteers for the defence of the homeland, civil servants, students, and participants from the informal sector.

The final match, characterized by a hard-fought and evenly matched game, saw no goals during regulation time. FC Fiimba eventually emerged victorious in the penalty shootout. The winning team was awarded the trophy, medals, a set of jerseys, and a cash prize, while the runner-up received medals, a set of jerseys, and a cash prize as well.

The tournament recognized the efforts of all participating teams with certificates of participation, and special prizes were given to the most deserving players. Member of Parliament Arnaud Yentema Tindano, who was present at the event, expressed his pleasure with the initiative and the strong involvement of the youth. He praised the dedication of the organizers and participants, reinforcing that sport is an effective means for fostering unity and peace. He pledged continued support for efforts aimed at enhancing social cohesion and community resilience.

The final was attended by the High Commissioner of the Gnagna province, Jean-Baptiste Beogo, along with administrative, military, customary, and religious leaders.
