Ramadan 2026: Pissila’s PDS Calls for Tolerance and Social Cohesion

Pissila: On the occasion of the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, the president of the special delegation (PDS) of Pissila, Tambi Zouma, accompanied by his close collaborators, toured the three main prayer sites of the commune, during which he invited Muslim faithful to cultivate interreligious tolerance and strengthen social cohesion.

According to Burkina Information Agency, PDS Tambi Zouma and his delegation successively visited the grand mosque, where the prayer was led by Imam Malick Sawadogo, and then the poultry market, where Imam Abdou Hamidou Nabaloum led the prayer of the Sunni community. The tour concluded at the site of the Tidjania community, where the prayer was led by Sheikh Tidiane Sawadogo.

At each stage, the municipal authority expressed the administration's gratitude for the prayers, blessings, and contributions of the faithful to the reconquest of the national territory. He urged them to continue invoking divine mercy, as well as for the protection of the authorities and fighting forces engaged in the defense of the country.

The PDS also emphasized the need to preserve living together, calling on the population to promote interreligious tolerance and to consolidate social peace in the commune. For their part, Muslim worshippers offered prayers for the definitive return of peace to Burkina Faso. They also implored divine protection for the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), engaged in the theater of operations to reconquer the integrity of the national territory.
