JEEPC 2026: Ramongo Proudly Raises the National Flag and Calls for Food Sovereignty and Economic Patriotism

Ramongo: The solemn raising of the national colors at the prefecture of Ramongo under the presidency of the president of the special delegation of Ramongo, Kouna Yvette Sar©, marked the official launch of the 1st phase of the Days of Patriotic Engagement and Citizen Participation (JEEPC) 2026 edition, calling for food sovereignty and economic patriotism.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this ceremony is part of a national mobilization effort around the theme: "Food sovereignty and economic patriotism: together, let us cultivate our dignity through local production and consumption," expressed under the mobilizing slogan: "Let's produce Burkinab¨, let's consume Burkinab¨: our plate, our pride!" President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, emphasized the importance of local consumption with the words, "the wise child is the one who buys his mother's cakes."

Administrative authorities, community leaders, and citizens gathered to show unity and commitment. The symbolic act of raising the colors reaffirmed their dedication to the nation's values and their intent to contribute to endogenous development, as championed by President Traor©.

Kouna Yvette Sar©, quoting President Traor©, highlighted the importance of self-reliance in food and clothing, warning against dependency, stating, "he who fills your plate ends up dictating his will to you." She urged the community to prioritize local production and consumption as vital elements for economic sovereignty and national pride.

The speech called for responsible behavior, valuing local resources, and community solidarity while rejecting external influence. The event aimed to raise awareness and strengthen the patriotic spirit to build a resilient economy fueled by citizen engagement.

In her concluding remarks, Sar© addressed the population, emphasizing that food sovereignty and economic patriotism should be daily actions and responsible choices. She reminded everyone that producing and consuming locally is a patriotic duty.
