Banwa: The Secretary General of the Banwa Province, Abdoul Kader KongZabr©, officially launched the 3rd edition of the Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC) by delivering the President of Faso's message. This event took place during a flag-raising ceremony at the Solenzo town hall, with attendance from administrative, customary, religious authorities, and the civilian population, including members of the FDS and VDP.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Banwa province, along with other regions in Burkina Faso, embraced the theme "my plate, my pride" for this year's commitment days. The event began with a flag-raising ceremony at 7:30 a.m., followed by Abdoul Kader KongZabr© reading the President's message to attendees.
The message urged the populace to reflect on their food consumption habits, questioning whether staples like rice, potatoes, powdered milk, and cooking utensils are sourced locally or imported. The call for food sovereignty and economic patriotism became the central theme for this edition of the Citizen Engagement and Participation Days.
Participants were encouraged to challenge economic domination by focusing on the production, processing, and consumption of local products. The message emphasized the importance of cultivating dignity through local production and consumption, thereby regaining control over the food supply.
