Raising of National Colors Marks Start of Patriotic Commitment Days in Ouessa

Banwa: As part of the third edition of the Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC), the prefect of the department of Ouessa organized the raising of the national colors at the town hall of Ouessa, on Thursday, March 26, 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the third edition of the Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation began today, March 26, and will end on April 9, 2026. At the call of the prefect of the department of Ouessa, Isma«l Sanogo, civil society groups mobilized for the raising of the colors at the town hall, marking the start of activities.

Following the ceremony, Isma«l Sanogo read the message from the President of Burkina Faso. The gendarmerie then reiterated the fundamental elements of the flag-raising procedure.

Placed under the theme: "Food sovereignty and economic patriotism: together, let us cultivate our dignity through local production and consumption", this third edition aims to strengthen economic sovereignty and promote local products.

Several activities are planned for JEPPC 2026. These include a day dedicated to exemplary tax practices, to be held on March 30, 2026, at the Ouessa town hall, and a cleanup day at the Ham©l© market. A conference on civic responsibility in schools is scheduled for April 7, 2026, at the Ouessa departmental high school. The flag-raising ceremony on April 8 will mark the end of the activities. Mr. Sanogo invited each organization to organize activities within this framework. He thanked the participants for their presence and continued engagement.

The Ouessa gendarmerie brigade took this opportunity to reiterate the fundamental principles of flag-raising ceremonies.
