Namentenga: The Secretary General of the province of Namentenga, Karim Isma«l Thombiano, called upon the region's vital forces to embrace the theme of the inaugural phase of the 3rd edition of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC), focusing on food sovereignty.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the provincial authority, standing in for the High Commissioner, delivered the President's message to the nation at a gathering held on March 26, 2026, at the provincial headquarters of the National Police in Boulsa. This segment of the JEPPC, running from March 26 to April 9, 2026, highlights the theme: "Food sovereignty and economic patriotism: together, let us cultivate our dignity through local production and consumption."
Mr. Thombiano emphasized the importance of producing, processing, and consuming locally, as vital steps towards achieving public health, economic independence, and national dignity. He urged crucial stakeholders to not only embrace the presidential message but also to promote it through tangible actions.
To facilitate this, he requested that each stakeholder propose an action plan and a program of activities aligned with the theme, to ensure effective coordination and monitoring of their execution at the provincial level.
The event featured a national flag-raising ceremony, the reading of the President's message, and discussions with participants on pertinent issues.
Chief Commissioner Olivier Baguimzanr©, the Provincial Director of the National Police, underscored the importance of adhering to traffic regulations. He highlighted offenses such as speeding and not wearing a helmet, cautioning that penalties would be enforced according to current laws.
For context, the previous JEPPC phase, which took place from October 2 to 16, 2025, concentrated on combating racketeering, corruption, and the degradation of public property.
