Sourou: The Secretary General of the province (SGP) of Sourou, Wendyam Martial Ouedraogo, has urged the youth of the province to become committed revolutionaries. This call to action was made during the launch of the 'Revolutionary Youth on the March' (JeRM) initiative, encouraging young people to embrace the ideals of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP).
According to Burkina Information Agency, Ouedraogo, who also serves as the representative of the High Commissioner, presided over the official launch ceremony on Thursday, April 2, 2026, in Tougan. The event marked the first anniversary of the proclamation of the RPP and witnessed participation from significant figures across the province as well as a large gathering of young residents.
During the event, Ouedraogo emphasized the importance of youth involvement, urging them to demonstrate commitment and actively support the revolutionary movement in Burkina Faso. He highlighted the trust placed in them by Captain Ibrahim Traore, the President of the nation, and underscored their crucial role in the success of the revolution.
Seydou Belou, the provincial director in charge of youth in Sourou, expressed support for the initiative, noting its role in engaging young individuals to back the progressive revolution in Burkina Faso. The launch ceremony included a moment of silence to honor the nation's martyrs and outlined plans for future activities, such as quarterly days of tribute and commitment, educational talks, public conferences on patriotic values, and awareness clips highlighting the RPP's actions.
