The Nando Region Reaffirms Patriotic Commitment at 3rd BIA Ceremony

Koudougou: The Nando region reaffirmed its patriotic commitment during a flag-raising ceremony at the 3rd Airborne Infantry Battalion (BIA) on Monday, presided over by the governor of Nando, Jean Yves Bere.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was marked by the presence of government representatives and regional figures, all demonstrating their commitment to Burkina Faso's sovereignty. Lieutenant SSayiwa Thierry Dabire, Acting Commander of the 3rd BIA, welcomed the participants, who sang the national anthem in unison.

Governor Adama Jean Yves Bere highlighted the symbolic significance of the event, coinciding with the first anniversary of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP) initiated by Captain Ibrahim Traore. He noted tangible progress in the region, particularly in security and economic sectors. The governor praised the army and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) for their efforts in resettling displaced populations and emphasized the structural transformation of the country's economy through the Patriotic Support Fund (PSF).

Quoting the Head of State, Bere stressed the need for "order and discipline" in ongoing reforms and called for integrity among public officials, warning against corruption. He referenced recent administrative sanctions as part of efforts to maintain accountability.

The governor also reviewed past initiatives, including the Dªm¨ Sira solidarity campaign and the launch of Faso Yaar in Boulkiemde and Sanguie. He emphasized the importance of civic responsibility and local engagement during the month of April. The ceremony concluded with an invitation for participants to reconvene for the next civic renewal exercise.

Governor Bere was accompanied by the high commissioner of Boulkiemde, Salimata Ouedraogo/Sanou, and the prefect/PDS of Koudougou commune, Amedee Pare.
