Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin warmly congratulated General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, T´ LSm, on his election on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, as President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2026-2031 term, during the first session of the National Assembly of the 16th legislature.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the presidential message published on the Kremlin website stated, "Dear Comrade T´ LSm, I warmly congratulate you on your election to the presidency of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam." The Russian president views the decision of the National Assembly of Vietnam as a testament to T´ LSm's high political authority and broad support for his policy of rapid socio-economic development and defense of national interests on the international stage.
The election results demonstrated unanimous support from the MPs, with all 495 participating MPs voting in favor. Following his election, T´ LSm participated in a swearing-in ceremony, adhering to regulations.
In front of the national flag, the National Assembly, and voters, T´ LSm took the oath, affirming his absolute loyalty to the Fatherland, the people, and the Constitution, and his commitment to fully execute the missions entrusted to him by the Party, the State, and the people.
