Djibasso: As part of the Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC), the Basic Education District (CEB) of Djibasso organized a mini-fair to promote local products. The event, held on April 7, 2026, aimed to encourage the consumption of local goods, aligning with the call from the President of Burkina Faso.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the mini-fair showcased dishes including faro, beans, and couscous made with fonio. The event also highlighted the agricultural efforts of local schools. Djibasso "B" school showcased produce from its vegetable garden, including lettuce, mint, onions, and spinach. Additionally, the departmental high school participated by exhibiting fruits from its vegetable farming activities.
Hamadou Dombou©, the senior education advisor and activities coordinator, emphasized that these initiatives illustrate the students' active involvement in their learning. They are part of an educational process aimed at promoting autonomy and responsibility among young learners, in line with the objectives set by Burkina Faso's highest authorities.
The mini-fair underscores the commitment of local educational authorities to integrate local production into educational institutions. The market gardening project was made possible by the mobilization of students, who contributed manure, and with support from the school council, which provided necessary equipment.
