Nandiala: The official handover of the electrification works for the classrooms and administration of the Nandiala Departmental High School took place on Saturday, April 11, AIB observed. The initiative, spearheaded by the association of former and current students of the high school (ANNE-LDN) and led by Philippe Zongo, aimed to find local solutions to improve the school's infrastructure. The association successfully partnered with a sponsor who funded 90% of the project, which included electrifying and ventilating the administrative offices and classrooms.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the overall budget for the installation was estimated at six million francs. Philippe Zongo expressed his gratitude to the partner for making these improvements possible and encouraged the community to actively participate in the region's development. School principal Pierre Kagambega remarked on the relief and ease the project would bring to work and studies.
The provincial director's representative of secondary, vocational, and technical education in Boulkemde also commended the efforts of the association and their partner, highlighting the positive impact on educational quality. The director of FELICITY SOLAR NC LED expressed pride in contributing to the students' futures and revealed plans for maintenance training for local youth.
Talardia Joseph Tiabondou, representing the town hall's special delegation president, mentioned future plans to connect the school to the SONABEL network, though the cost remains a challenge. He thanked the association and partner for realizing a significant dream and urged proper utilization of the new facilities. The ceremony concluded with the partner donating thirty bags of rice to the FDS and VDP of the commune.
