Kelbo Concludes National Days with Cultural and Sporting Events

Bougouriba: The commune of Kelbo marked, on Thursday, the closing of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC) through activities combining cultural promotion, sport and strengthening of social cohesion.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event featured an exhibition dedicated to local heritage, highlighting traditional dishes and clothing that showcase the rich cultural heritage of the area. The local people expressed their attachment to traditional values and to living together in harmony.

A petanque tournament, organized by the president of the special delegation (PDS), was a key highlight of the event, bringing together several teams from the municipality. The teams, divided into two groups of five each, competed in a friendly atmosphere. Ultimately, the team from Group A emerged victorious, winning the tournament trophy.

The top three teams were rewarded for their performances. The first-place team received 12,500 CFA francs and a trophy, while the second and third place teams were awarded 7,500 CFA francs and 5,000 CFA francs, respectively.

The closing ceremony was presided over by the head of the special delegation, Fid¨le Bazemo. In his address, he commended the strong mobilization of the local population and their commitment throughout the activities. He also expressed his gratitude to all the participants, particularly the competitors and their supporters.

Mr. Bazemo also gave thanks to God for the smooth running of the activities and emphasized the spirit of brotherhood that prevailed during the competition. "There are no winners or losers, because beyond the competition, it is the family that wins," he stated.

The closing of the JEPPC in Kelbo took place in a festive and fraternal atmosphere, reflecting the unity and solidarity of the people around the ideals of patriotism and citizen participation.
