Hadi Sow Appointed as Provincial Director of Sports, Youth, and Employment in Bougouriba

Bougouriba: The High Commissioner of the Bougouriba province, Amidou Konate, officially installed Mr. Hadi Sow in his new role as the provincial director of Sports, Youth, and Employment in Diebougou. This appointment follows a significant reform that merged the previously separate directorates into a single entity.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Mr. Sow's appointment was made by the Council of Ministers on March 19, 2026. He succeeds Mr. Mathurin Sow, the former provincial director of Sports and Recreation, and Mr. Bªbª Bio Da, who was responsible for Youth and Employment. The merger of these departments is a result of a cabinet reshuffle that took place in January 2026.

During the installation ceremony, High Commissioner Konate expressed appreciation for the outgoing directors' contributions, recognizing their collaborative efforts and hard work. Both outgoing officials presented positive assessments of their tenure, with Mr. Mathurin Sow emphasizing the promotion of social cohesion through sports and talent development, while Mr. Bªbª Bio Da highlighted initiatives such as socio-professional integration and youth awareness campaigns.

In his speech, Mr. Hadi Sow commended his predecessors' achievements and committed to advancing their initiatives. He stressed the importance of collaborative governance and continuity in supporting youth and sports in the province. The High Commissioner encouraged Mr. Sow to integrate quickly and work closely with local institutions, while Mr. Sow called for stakeholder support to overcome challenges in local development efforts.
