Bingo: Young People Equipped with Civic Responsibility and Respect for State Symbols

Bingo: The Prefect, President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the municipality of Bingo, Yacouba Gouem, initiated on April 1, 4 and 8, 2026, a theoretical and practical training session on the raising of the colors and the attitude to the flag.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this activity was part of the first phase of the third edition of the National Days of Patriotic Engagement and Civic Participation (JEPPC), which mobilized students and young people from the locality. Under the chairmanship of the Prefect of Bingo, Yacouba Gouem, and the patronage of local businessman and Volunteer for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), Mahamadi Belem, this initiative aims to strengthen patriotic sentiment.

The objective is to enable young people to master the protocol rules related to state symbols, which form the foundations of national unity. Technical supervision was provided by members of the Kokologho Territorial Gendarmerie Brigade.

The training was structured in two stages: a theoretical phase held at Bingo Town Hall, followed by a practical phase at the mast of the Departmental Water and Forestry Service (SDEF). To combine business with pleasure, an evaluation in the form of a competition pitted several teams of young people against each other.

At the end of the competition, the three top performers were awarded prizes for excellence. Now considered "ambassadors of national values," the participants are encouraged to promote civic responsibility within their respective schools.

Given the success of this first edition, the administrative officials, the teaching staff, and the members of the CNAVC have advocated for the continuation of this initiative through the organization of a second edition.
