Koudougou: The Governor of the Nando Region Inquires About the Progress of SONABEL’s Construction Projects

Koudougou: The governor of the Nando region, Adama Jean Yves Béré, made a follow-up visit on Friday to the construction sites of the National Electricity Company of Burkina (SONABEL) in Koudougou. This field visit aimed to assess the progress of construction work on the new 25-megawatt thermal power plant and the modern electrical substation.According to Burkina Information Agency, the top official in the Nando region, Adama Jean Yves Béré, wants to ensure that the commitments for energy independence in his district are being met. Accompanied by a delegation composed of the Secretary General of the region, local authorities, and regional energy officials, he inspected SONABEL's strategic sites in Koudougou.At the construction sites of the 25-megawatt thermal power plant and the new distribution substation, the governor noted a level of execution deemed "satisfactory". These infrastructures, once completed, should boost regional energy supply and support the country's industrialization momentum.While con gratulating the partner companies for their efforts, Mr. Béré emphasized the importance of technical rigor and strict adherence to delivery deadlines. "These projects are strategic for socio-economic development," he reminded the contractors.The delegation also visited the current distribution station to review the existing service system. Taking this opportunity, the governor commended the management of the regional energy directorate and the SONABEL commercial agency. He nevertheless urged the technicians to prioritize innovation in order to more effectively meet the public's expectations regarding service quality.
