Ouagadougou: Graduating students in Anglophone Studies at Joseph Ki-Zerbo University, class of 2022, participated this Thursday, April 16, in the activities of the presidential Faso Mªbo initiative, as part of the 72-hour celebration marking their graduation.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the class's deputy representative, Nabonswende Roger Gansonre, stated that this action aims to give special meaning to the end of their university studies by contributing to national development.
The students handed out packs of water to the workers on site before participating in the various tasks involved in paving stone production, including preparing the concrete, molding, compacting, demolding, and drying the blocks.
The class's sponsor, Dr. Nathalie Djiguimkoudre, a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Anglophone Studies, praised the initiative, which she said reflected the civic engagement of the student body. She indicated that this gesture demonstrates that English language training can also serve as a catalyst for the country's development.
The 72-hour program will continue this Friday with the official graduation ceremony, before concluding this Saturday, April 18, with an educational field trip to the Laongo site.
