Namentenga/SNC Bobo 2026: Artists Blessed by Naaba Sonre to Aim for National Titles

Namentenga: Artists from the province of Namentenga, on their way to the National Culture Week (SNC) Bobo 2026, received on Tuesday the blessings of the canton chief of Boulsa, Naaba Sonre, for a fruitful and triumphant participation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the delegation led by the High Commissioner of the province, Adama Conseiga, comprised representatives of different artistic disciplines who visited the traditional authority to seek his spiritual support before the national competition. Naaba Sonre expressed his support by bestowing blessings upon the participants, urging the ambassadors of the Koulse region to represent their land proudly.

The province of Namentenga is set to compete in several categories, including traditional wrestling with 17 wrestlers, archery with three archers, culinary art with Adiaratou Kafando, slam poetry with Adriel Yameogo, and instrumental music with the Wanrougdo troupe. Officials noted that the artists have intensified rehearsals following the regional phases, aiming to reach the top positions in the competition.

The Wanrougdo troupe, participating for the first time, is already showing ambition. Its leader, David Lallogo, expressed confidence in the performance of the group, determined not to be just a background player. The Provincial Director of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism (DPCCAT), Touwendinda Francis Sakande, acknowledged the support of both administrative and customary authorities, expressing hope for the Koulse region to shine during this edition.

High Commissioner Adama Conseiga reaffirmed the commitment of the authorities to support the artists, assuring them of continued support throughout their participation.
