Sandbondtenga: Teachers and students of the Ziga CEG (General Education College) were galvanized by the municipal authority during a visit from Amadou Konvolobo, the president of the special delegation (PDS). During his visit on April 16, 2026, Konvolobo encouraged both teachers and students at the institution.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the PDS began his visit by participating in the raising of the national colors at the college. He then engaged in discussions with the administrative staff, teachers, and students. Alidou Ouedraogo, the director of the CEG, presented the school, which accommodates about 100 students, and highlighted several challenges faced by the institution. These challenges include a shortage of classrooms and unfenced school grounds, which pose various risks to both students and teachers.
Ouedraogo also expressed concerns over issues such as school dropout, noting that 11 cases were recorded in the first two trimesters, and there were two cases of early pregnancies. In response, the PDS of Ziga commended the staff, referring to them as "silent builders of the future," and encouraged students to continue their efforts despite the difficulties.
Konvolobo emphasized that education is a community responsibility and urged parents to become more involved in the school's activities. He also assured the stakeholders of his commitment to communicating the school's concerns to the relevant authorities, with the aim of swiftly addressing these challenges.
