Sourou: The Notre Dame de l'Annonciation (NDA) school complex in Tougan launched the commemorative activities of its ten years of existence, placed under the sign of wisdom. This milestone event took place on Saturday, April 18, 2026, and was organized around the theme "Ten years of the Notre Dame de l'Annonciation private college of Tougan: ten years of fruitfulness in faith and resilience in the heart of Sourou," drawing the participation of the administrative authorities of the province.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the school's director, Sister Albertine Pare, highlighted that the survival and success of the complex over the past decade is attributed to courage and determination. She noted that all stakeholders remain committed to providing quality education, viewing the students as the future of the country. The event featured various activities, including a raising of the colours, a popular cross-country race, a thanksgiving mass, and a football match between former students and teachers.
The celebration received commendations from Joseph Karambiri, the representative of the provincial director of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training of Sourou, and Pierre Zan, the head of the examinations, certifications, and competitions department. They praised the religious sisters and all contributors for their dedication to educational work. "Thank you to the sisters and all those involved for their selflessness and the sacrifices made to support the children. Through the brilliant results of your institution, you bring visibility to the provincial leadership and the entire province," Karambiri stated.
Desire Badolo, the High Commissioner of Sourou Province, also acknowledged the school's staff for their achievements in a context of resilience. "I commend the quality of education at your institution, which reflects your motto: work, discipline, and success. We have witnessed the rigor and discipline that prevail there," he remarked.
The director mentioned that the closing of the commemorative activities for the ten years of the establishment is planned for next October, with additional activities on the program.
