New Provincial Director of Family Affairs in Passore Focuses on Achievements Consolidation

Passore: The Secretary General of the Passore Province, Sadou Ouedraogo, installed the new Provincial Director (DP) of Family and Solidarity for Passore, Daouda Derra, on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. On this occasion, the new DP placed his mandate under the banner of continuity, strengthening consultation, transparency, and consolidating achievements.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the installation ceremony saw a large turnout, with the presence of provincial and regional administrative authorities, customary and religious leaders, the Defense and Security Forces, paramilitaries, civil society organizations, people living with disabilities, as well as relatives, friends, and colleagues.

The new provincial director, Daouda Derra, who succeeds Elvis Bambio, praised the efforts and sacrifices made by his predecessor during his term at the head of the provincial directorate of Passore. Mr. Derra expressed his gratitude to the highest authorities for the trust placed in him and gave thanks to God for allowing him to serve for more than five years in the province of Loroum.

He indicated that his priorities will focus on the well-being of the population, particularly the poor, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and those who have returned to their places of origin. "You will be called upon to maintain everything that has been done and, for what remains to be accomplished, each of you will contribute to the search for corrective strategies," he told his colleagues.

The outgoing provincial director, Elvis Bambio, gave a satisfactory assessment despite limited resources. However, he addressed several major challenges, including household impoverishment, the fight against gender-based violence, and certain harmful social practices. Mr. Bambio invited his former colleagues to support his successor in the success of his mission.

On behalf of the constituted bodies, the provincial director in charge of basic education in Passore, Mahamoudou Kioho, congratulated the new director and assured him of the commitment of the provincial structures to support him in achieving the set objectives. As a reminder, Daouda Derra was appointed on Thursday, April 2, 2026, as the new provincial director in charge of Family Affairs for Passore.
