Sandbondtenga: The first vice-president of the special municipal delegation of Kaya, Adama Simpore, announced this Wednesday the upcoming commissioning of buses from the Public Transport Company (SOTRACO), on the occasion of the reception of ten brand new buses in the city of Kaya.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the arrival of these buses marks an important step in the development of public transport in Kaya. The first vice-president expressed his approval at the parking site, highlighting the initiative's potential to improve the quality of life for residents and structure urban travel.

The passage of the column of ten buses through the city aroused curiosity and mobilized the population, who gathered to express their joy at seeing this project become a reality. The municipal authority reassured the public that everything will be done to get the buses into service very soon, to the delight of the people.

The service to Kaya was first announced in November 2025 by the Director General of SOTRACO, Drissa Sawadogo, during an information and awareness meeting for the population in Kaya. In addition to Kaya, the communes of Boussouma and Korsimoro will also benefit from this service. This initiative is part of the national policy for the development of public transport in Burkina Faso, aiming to strengthen urban mobility and facilitate the movement of local populations.
