CEB of Sourgou Concludes Sports and Cultural Activities with Football Finals

Sourgou: The Basic Education District (CEB) of Sourgou concluded its sports and cultural activities on Saturday, May 2. The event, marked by the men's and women's football finals, took place under the chairmanship of the Head of Basic Education District (CCEB), Ms. Kabouga Nagnon/Nion.According to Burkina Information Agency, the closing ceremony of the activities of the National Organization of Sport in Schools (ONASS) was a significant event, drawing administrative authorities, led by the Prefect and President of the special delegation (PDS) of Sourgou, Issaka Ouedraogo. Customary authorities and education partners were also in attendance to witness the culmination of these efforts.On the field, the football finals were the highlight of this edition. In the girls' competition, the Ouoro team emerged victorious over LS on penalties after a goalless draw in regulation time. The boys' competition saw a similar scenario, with the Guirgo B team securing the trophy against their opponents, thanks to a decisive performance by their goalkeeper during the penalty shootout.Beyond football, the event included various disciplines such as volleyball, athletics, and cultural contests, showcasing the students' creativity and artistic talents. Winners were awarded with trophies, medals, balls, and prizes for their excellence in these activities.Ms. Kabouga Nagnon/Nion, the CCEB of Sourgou, expressed her appreciation for the dedication of the supervisors and the support from the students' parents. She highlighted the dual focus on both physical abilities and creative expression that these activities provided. Special recognition was given to the Goguin school for its hospitality and resilience. All athletes and cultural groups were commended for their fair play throughout the competitions.
