Students at Zambo High School Urged to Foster Fraternity During Cultural Events

Zoundweogo: Students at the departmental high school are encouraged to cultivate fraternity during cultural activities. The Zambo departmental high school, located in the province of Ioba, officially commenced its cultural and leisure activities under the themes of creativity, tolerance, and mutual respect. This initiative was launched on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was presided over by Blaise Dabire, the first vice-president of the special delegation of the commune of Zambo. The event witnessed the presence of the secretary general of the town hall, school officials, teachers, and students. The activities, themed "The culture of respect and school harmony", aim to complement academic training and contribute to developing balanced, open, and responsible citizens, as stated by headmaster Siriki Ouattara.

Headmaster Ouattara emphasized that these initiatives are more than just entertainment. "These activities help develop creativity, teamwork, tolerance, and mutual respect," he noted, encouraging students to exhibit fair play during various competitions.

Blaise Dabire, the first vice-president of the special delegation, commended the headmaster and his team for this effort. He urged the students to cultivate fraternity, mutual respect, and peace throughout the activities.

The season's commencement featured the opening match of the Principal's Cup football tournament, with the 10th grade "A" class playing against the 11th grade "D" class. The match concluded with a 1-1 draw, leading to a penalty shootout where the 10th grade "A" class emerged victorious with a 5-4 win.

According to the organizers, the program will include a fair, a traditional day, dance competitions, and inter-class football competitions. The activities are scheduled to run from April 7 to May 16, 2026.
