Boulgou: Bagre Village Primary School emerged victorious in the 2026 school final, clinching the trophy after defeating Bagre P©rim¨tres B with a score of 2 goals to 1. The match, held on the communal field, was the highlight of the closing ceremony of the sports and cultural activities of the Basic Education District (CEB) of Bagre. The event was presided over by the president of the special delegation, Wendpanga G©rard Mar©, and attended by various administrative, educational, and customary authorities.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the football final was played in two 35-minute periods and was attended by several prominent figures, including the representative of the provincial director of preschool, primary, and non-formal education of Boulgou, Ousmane Kabor©, who was the sponsor of the ceremony. Other attendees included Dr. Gouba, the CEO of the Bagre pharmaceutical depot, the representative of OCADES, customary authorities, heads of decentralized services, teachers, and parents.
The ceremony was organized under the theme "Sport and culture in schools: lever for civic education, resilience, and cohesion." Tass©r© Yirga, head of the Bagre Basic Education District, lauded the organizing committee for the smooth execution of the various competitions throughout the 2026 school year. He emphasized that sports and cultural activities create learning environments that foster discipline, civic-mindedness, and community living among students.
Ousmane Kabor©, the sponsor of the event, commended the CEB of Bagre for their initiative and urged educational officials to continue their efforts in training and supervising students. The match saw Bagre Village Primary School take an early lead with a goal in the 7th minute. Despite a comeback by Bagre P©rim¨tres B to equalize, Bagre Village secured the victory with a second goal in the closing moments.
The head of the winning school expressed satisfaction with the team's victory, highlighting the students' commitment and determination.
