AIB’s New Director Aims to Revamp Revenue Streams and Marketing Strategy

Ouagadougou: The new Commercial and Marketing Director of the Burkina Information Agency (AIB), Wendtouba GuennolE Serge Balma, has outlined his plans to enhance the agency's market presence by diversifying revenue streams and modernizing its marketing strategies. Installed by the Secretary General, Alban Kini, on behalf of the agency's Director General, Balma has called for a collective effort among AIB employees focusing on rigor, innovation, and excellence.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Balma, appointed by ministerial decree on April 21, 2026, brings expertise in information and communication sciences and technologies. His professional background in marketing, sales, and communication supports the trust placed in him to lead AIB's strategic direction. Kini emphasized the need for Balma to exhibit initiative and professionalism to devise innovative strategies for resource mobilization and enhancing the agency's outputs.

Before his appointment, Balma served as a Commercial Advisor at Radiodiffusion TElEvision du Burkina (RTB) since February 2025. His previous roles include Head of Sales and Marketing at RTB/Hauts-Bassins Regional Directorate (2020-2025) and Sales and Marketing Manager at Radio Burkina (2018-2020), beginning his career as a Marketing Officer in 2016.

Balma expressed gratitude to the ministry's authorities and AIB's general management for entrusting him with this pivotal role.
