Ouagadougou: The second edition of the National Teacher Recognition Week was launched on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Centre A school in Bouroum-Bouroum, through a solemn ceremony of raising the national colors. Initiated to enhance the teaching profession, this week aims to highlight the fundamental role of teachers in shaping citizens and to promote, among learners, the values of respect, gratitude, and appreciation towards their educators.
According to Burkina Information Agency, students, teachers, and educational officials gathered in the schoolyard to mark the start of activities planned in the schools of the municipality. In his address, the director of Centre A school, Thomas D'Aquin Hien, expressed his delight at this initiative dedicated to teachers. He emphasized the importance of the role teachers play in the education and training of future citizens, before inviting the students to show their appreciation to their mentors.
For his part, the Head of the Basic Education District (CCEB) of Bouroum-Bouroum, Dr. Lassan© Tao, urged teachers to successfully conduct the various activities programmed in schools, while actively involving students to better enhance the teaching function. The CCEB also expressed its gratitude to the teachers for their constant efforts in support of quality education in the community.
