Peni: The commune of P©ni gathered on Friday to celebrate the day dedicated to customs and cultural values, specifically May 15, under the palaver tree. This event was characterized by fraternity and the transmission of indigenous knowledge, with a strong emphasis on unity.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Dozos, along with municipal, customary, and population authorities, highlighted their cultural identity through discussions and messages promoting peace, social cohesion, and the preservation of ancestral traditions. The president of the special delegation of the commune of P©ni, Moumouni Ou©draogo, led the ceremony and praised the Dozos' efforts, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding local cultural heritage. He noted that traditions and customs are fundamental to people's identity and are crucial in strengthening social cohesion.
Ou©draogo addressed the gathering, stating that a people who forsake their culture risk compromising their future. He called on the community to remain steadfast in upholding values of solidarity, discipline, and unity to build a robust community and nation. He also encouraged the sons and daughters of P©ni to show patriotism and dedication to both local and national development. Additionally, he commended the Dozos for their role in maintaining peace and security within their communities.
Dramane Ouattara, president of the Dozos communal group, stated that the celebration aimed to honor customs and ensure their transmission to younger generations. He reaffirmed the Dozos' dedication to assisting local authorities in combating insecurity and promoting social cohesion.
