Night of Tribute to Expand to Provincial Level in Koudougou

Koudougou: The press conference announcing the third edition of the Night of Tribute to Traditional and Religious Leaders was held on Sunday, May 17 in Koudougou, AIB observed. Led by the web television channel Dave TV, the initiative aims to highlight the efforts of traditional and religious authorities in preserving peace and social cohesion. Scheduled for Saturday, May 30, 2026, this third edition marks a turning point in the organization of the event.

According to Burkina Information Agency, after two initial editions held at the municipal level, the organizers decided this year to expand the tribute to the provincial level. The event promoter, David Kabr©, musician and founder of Dave TV 226, stated that the evening is intended as a framework for recognizing traditional and religious leaders for their contribution to maintaining peace and living together.

'Traditional and religious leaders play a very important role in society. That is why our channel felt it was important to value and celebrate them through this evening,' Kabr© said. For this edition, ten canton chiefs will be honored. These include the canton chiefs of Lall©, Ramongo, Poa, Bingo, Kokologho, Sourgou, Thyou, Sabou, Nanoro, and Conkis-Tenga. Representatives of the Catholic, Muslim, and Protestant communities will also participate in this tribute.

According to the organizers, expanding the event to the provincial level aims to give the project greater scope and momentum while highlighting the role of traditional authorities in social stability. They also intend, through this initiative, to contribute to the promotion of Koudougou and Boulkiemd©. Taking advantage of this press conference, David Kabr© appealed to partners and well-wishers to support the organization of this event, which he described as "grand." According to him, celebrating the guardians of traditions and religious leaders is a collective responsibility given their contribution to strengthening social cohesion.
