Beijing: Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Beijing on Tuesday for a two-day official visit, May 19 and 20, during which he will meet with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, to discuss key international issues. Several other diplomatic meetings and protocol activities are also on the Russian leader's agenda.
According to Burkina Information Agency, one of the highlights of the Russian president's visit to China will be an exchange "over tea" with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, devoted to the main international issues, as stated by the Kremlin's international affairs advisor, Yuri Ushakov. Prior to this meeting in a restricted format, Russian-Chinese negotiations are planned with the participation of official delegations from both countries.
President Vladimir Putin will also hold talks with Chinese Premier Li Qiang. The program also includes the launch of the Russia-China Year of Education. The Russian President will visit a joint exhibition by the TASS and Xinhua news agencies, dedicated to the history of relations between the two countries. A meeting with the young Chinese engineer Pei Pai is also planned, along with other official activities.
