Koulp©logo: Cinkans© High School organized its sports and socio-cultural days from May 18 to 20, 2026, under the theme: 'As a student of Cinkans© High School, I commit to civic responsibility and resilience.' These activities brought together students, teachers, parents, and administrative authorities around the values of social cohesion, discipline, and living together.
According to Burkina Information Agency, for three days, a variety of sporting, cultural, and educational activities filled the school. The first day was dedicated to athletics competitions and spelling bees. The second day showcased artistic performances, including traditional and modern dances, parades, and board games.
The closing of activities, on the third day, was marked by the football final between the 1st D1 class and the 5th B class. Participants also enjoyed local dishes such as babenda, kaansa, and kebabs, served throughout the festivities.
The closing ceremony took place in the presence of administrative and military authorities, department heads, school partners, and parents of students. Speaking on behalf of the students, Aziz Koara stated that these 72 hours demonstrated that school remains not only a learning environment, but also a space for camaraderie and personal growth. "Knowledge is acquired not only in the classroom, but also in the field, on stage, and through sharing," he declared. According to him, these activities help develop teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and creativity among the students.
The school principal, Idrissa Bassa, emphasized that sport is a true school of life. He commended the students' commitment in continuing activities despite the death of a player on April 7th, stating that this attitude reflects "the resilience of Burkina Faso." He congratulated the organizing committee and urged the finalists to practice fair play.
The patron, Yacouba Niki©ma, urged the students to be bold, creative, and united, emphasizing that "school provides tools, culture gives a voice." He encouraged the young people to move forward with determination and cultivate solidarity beyond differences.
The second vice-president of the Yargatenga special delegation, Seydou Maran©, representing the PDS party, praised the initiative of the Cinkans© high school. He emphasized that students represent the future of the community and the country, while urging parents to provide greater support to the school in its educational mission. "A successful education relies on the partnership between school and family," he asserted.
