Banwa: Muslim faithful in Sanaba celebrated Eid al-Adha, commonly known as the Feast of the Sacrifice or Tabaski, this Wednesday, May 27, 2026, in the presence of the PDS and other local authorities. Many Muslim worshippers in Sanaba turned out in the public square to participate in the great Tabaski prayer.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this large prayer service was attended by administrative and customary authorities, as well as representatives of other religious faiths. After the two rakats, Imam Issouf Sana preached for the return of peace to Burkina Faso. The imam also invited all Muslim faithful in Sanaba to cultivate tolerance so that the country can find peace.

Sanaba Mousse Traor©’s PDS, present at this prayer, wished that God would accept the wishes of each of them. “May God be with our country for the definitive return of peace. May he also continue to assist our leaders, our Defense and Security Forces and our Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland on a daily basis,” he affirmed.

The parish priest of Sanaba, Joseph Dionou, indicated that he came to demonstrate the solidarity, fraternity, and support of the Catholic Church to the Muslim brothers. “We send them our best wishes for peace to return to Burkina Faso.”

After these various blessings, Imam Issouf Sana proceeded with the sacrifice of the Tabaski sheep in the public square, thus allowing Muslim faithful to do the same at home.
